<p>Je ne me fais aucune illusion sur le sort que le comité <hi rend="underline">Mesures</hi> fera aux poèmes de mon amie belge. Mais aucune raison de ne pas tenter la chance. Merci donc !</p>
<p>Je n’entends rien au langage poétique. Je sais par cœur quelques passages de Baudelaire et de Ronsard, avec lesquels, jeune homme, je me suis longtemps masturbé. J'en suis resté là. Quand je lis une revue, je ne saute pas systématiquement les pages de poèmes ; au contraire, je m’y frotte gentiment, mais avec une attention au repos, comme on joue quelques minutes avec un gosse qu’on croise dans l’escalier. Je ne discuterai donc pas des mérites et des démérites de ceux que je vous ai transmis. Non sum dignus.</p></div></body>

Je redoute ces jeux. Je suis ainsi fabriqué que je doute totalement des prophéties favorables, mais que je m’inquiète malgré moi des pronostics inquiétants. Mon pessimisme naturel me suffit pour craindre l’avenir. Je révère et fuis les astrologues…</p>
