Narration des faits de manière concise&amp;nbsp;». Il s'agit d'annales datées du VI&lt;sup&gt;e&lt;/sup&gt;&amp;nbsp;siècle de notre ère, liste d'événements chronologiques s'étendant de l'an 131/132 avant notre ère jusqu'aux années 540.&amp;nbsp; La &lt;em&gt;Chronique&lt;/em&gt; compile des sources de provenances diverses censées se trouver (ici copiées et remaniées) dans les archives de la ville depuis le III&lt;sup&gt;e&lt;/sup&gt;&amp;nbsp;siècle, ce qui accréditerait particulièrement la valeur de ses données. La majeure partie du matériau historiographique exploité par le chroniqueur a été réutilisé par d'autres chroniques, notamment dans la &lt;em&gt;Chronique ad annum 846&lt;/em&gt; ou dans celle du Pseudo-Denys de 774-775. La &lt;em&gt;Chronique&lt;/em&gt; actuelle, rédigée peu après 540, serait néanmoins un témoin de deux chroniques antérieures auxquelles puisèrent les chroniqueurs ultérieurs.&lt;/div&gt;&#13;
&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Cette œuvre essentiellement historico-ecclésiastique fournit des informations sur le christianisme à Édesse et les courants religieux qui y affleuraient. L'intention première de l'auteur anonyme semble s'orienter sur la description des événements tragiques et désastreux qui affectèrent la vie de la cité, et en particulier les catastrophes naturelles.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;</text>
