Dear Sir,

We have carefully studied the packing transport and insurance of the paintings and drawings as mentioned upon the list communicated to ourselves by the “Musée Rodin” :

From Musée Rodin, packing in special cases, Transport to London and Insurance :

L. 625-0-0

This lumpsum contract price includes Insurance against all risks for a total value of £57.000-0-0

Are not included in our price the following :

Warfage dues (certainly rather high)

Dock charges 3/10 per L.100-0-0

Storage : L. 8-0-0 per month

Insurance in stores monthly : 1/- per L.100-0-0

Cartage to stores : 6/- per 40 cubic feet

Cartage from stores to ship : 6/- per 40 cubic feet

Freight London/Kobé : 87/ - + 10% per 40 cubic feet

Insurance London/Kobé : 0,375%

As you may see by the above figures the transport to London would be very expensive and we take the liberty to suggest to your goodself to forward your collection directly from Paris to Kobé, via Marseilles.

Awaiting the favour of your decision on the matter, we beg to remain, Dear Sir, Yours respectfully
