Dear Monsieur Benedite,

I hope you will forgive me for troubling you with another letter about the Rodin works for the Museum in Japan, but my friend Mr. Matsukata, who has been staying with me, fears that possibly the turn of events in Siberia may necessitate his return to Japan sooner than he had intended. It is impossible for him at the moment to pay a visit to Paris and have the pleasure of making your acquaintance as he would very much like to do and he feels that it would be most desirable to arrange something definitely about the works he wishes to have, before he is obliged to leave Europe.

If Mr. Matsukata can be fortunate enough to secure thirty pieces or so, (large and small 30 together), he will have a special room in the Museum to contain Rodin’s work. Of course, he does not desire delivery of these works before the end of the war, but he would be very glad if the negotiations could be completed soon. Can you therefore kindly send him some photographs and a catalogue showing what works he can select from and also the prices?

The matter could not doubt be arranged, if you wished, with the help of the Japanese Embassy in Paris, but I do not think you would find this necessary. When you send the catalogue will you kindly send me two copies.

Mr. Matsukata would also like some examples of Dalou if possible, Bramson once offered me a fine sketch by Dalou for the Delacroix Monument in the Luxembourg Gardens. It belonged to a Paris Dealer in Bronzes. Do you think it will be possible to get this? By the way, do you know the address of Bramson?

With all good wishes,

Believe me, dear Monsieur Bénédite,

Yours sincerely,

Frank Brangwyn.
