We beg to inform you that we had today a visit from Mr. Albert Baertsoen and who handed us your letter of introduction addressed to our Mr. Takahata, asking us to pay him Frs. 3,000 – as a part payment due to you for account of K. Matsukata Esq. We, therefore, gave the above gentleman our cheque for £115-6-9, being the sterling equivalent to Frs. 3,000 @25.98, which amont we will deduct from our next remittance.
