We are duly in receipt of your favour dated 10th January advising further purchases of arts amounting to Frs. 47,000 – altogether for Mr. K. Matsukata, and thank you for the Certificate of Property for same.

We, therefore, now beg to hand you herewith cheque in your favour for Frs. 44,000 – in settlement of this account, as noted below.

Less : Advance to M. Albert Baertsoen, as per your lettler of 13th January 1919 ….. Frs 3,000

Cheque herewith : Frs 44,000.

We shall be glad to receive your formal receipt in duplicate as usual, so that we can send one to M. Matsukata in Japan.

We note with thanks your remarks about the insurance on those arts now under safe custody of l’Hôtel Biron. If you can get duplicate policies, we shall thank you kindly to forward them to us.
