Exhibition presentation

In situ exhibition in tribute to the work of actress Romy Schneider.
Made up of 350 authentic objects over 600m², it traces – over the course of costumes, scenery, paintings, photographs, personal archives such as diaries, film excerpts and interviews – the history of the woman who was to become an icon of French cinema and who still enthrals audiences today.
The aim was to paint the portrait of a tragically-destined woman who was above all modern, free, accepted herself for who she was, loved her job, and to allow her to speak for herself by making her heard rather than just commenting on her life-story, re-establishing truths within her glamorous life.
This exhibition was organised into five sections: The Little Austrian Fiancée; Inventing an Actress; Incarnating the French Woman; Searching for Perfection; Supreme Freedom.
Exhibition sponsored by Netflix, the Fondation Gan pour le Cinéma and Chanel, in partnership with the INA and BNP Paribas.
