Chère Madame Noufflard, Vous n’ignorez sans doute pas que notre amie Mme Duclaux voudrait que vous vissiez son portrait fait par Sargent il y a … oh bien des années. Cela me procurerait le plaisir de faire votre connaissance, la vôtre et celle de M. Noufflard, quoiqu’il me semble déjà vous connaître à travers Mme Duclaux et les Halévy. Le plus simple serait si vous veniez déjeuner chez moi tous les deux, Lundi ou Mardi à votre choix. Le tramway N° 7 partant du Duomo (et préférablement à son passage devant le Bottegine une minute ou deux plus tôt) à midi vingt vous amènera à l’hôtel Le Lune, d’où vous trouverez facilement le chemin descendant vers ma maison. Un pin parasol marque ma grille, que vous ouvrirez sans plus. Veuillez me téléphoner si cette proposition est pour vous plaire, car la poste met trop longtemps et je vais garder [les deux jours] pour vous. Yours truly V. Paget
