Monsieur,
Pray accepts the assurance of my warmest sympathy and admiration for the noble stand you haves (sic) have (sic) taken on behalf of Liberty and Justice, and my horror at the outrageous and wicked sentence which has been passed upon you.
The Judge and jury who have pronounced this infamous sentence have covered themselves with Disgrace, and have done their best to to (sic) bring down the judgment of Almighty God on the French nation.
Pray accept this assurance of my profound admiration and believe me, your faithfuls (sic) of l'Illustre Servant.
