Dear Ms Zola
You will please allow an American protestant to say that he honors & admires you & your heroic effort to have Justice done. I cannot believe that you will lose in France in such a case.
Should you however not succeed you will have conscientiousness of being a martyr in the cause of justice. God help France. You Ms Zola will live in the memory of all justice loving men as a hero.
A monument should be reected in the United States of America as high as the one to our great and good Washington, which now stands in the capital of our country, where I am proud to say you are honored.
God bless & protect you. U the [mot illisible] of our good Americans, and our family in particular which dates from the foundation of our country.
Allow my dear Ms Zola to shake your hand & believe me
Yours sincerely
Relations
